| 1970년대 인류를 둘러싼 다양한 위기를 피하고 관리하기 위한 활동이 시작됐다. 그중 최초의 사업은 ‘인류의 위기에 관한 프로젝트’로, 이 프로젝트를 수탁한 MIT가 로마 클럽에 제출한 연구보고서가 바로 『성장의 한계』(The Limits to Growth)』이다. “성장의 한계”는 지구라는 한정된 공간 속에서 기하급수적 성장을 무한대로 계속할 수 없다고 생각하였다. 하지만 이에 대한 반론이 있다. “제한 없는 성장”이 그것이다. |
